Island Of The Blue Dolphins
by Scott O'Dell

I think you should read this book because it is exciting and has lots of adventures to explore. Island of the Blue Dolphins is about a girl named Karana. The Aleuts came to their island to hunt otter. They didn't give them their fair share of beads for the otter they hunted so they went to war. During the war, Karana's father died. Now she lives with her sister Ulape and her brother Ramo.

Everyone in the whole cove had to leave because they were afraid that the Aleuts might come back to the island to find them. They all packed their most prized possessions to bring to the island with them. They were about to get in the canoe when Karana's brother forgot his fishing spear and went back to get it but he missed the boat. What will Karana do to find her way back to her brother? You will have to read this book to find out.

Island Of The Blue Dolphins

I just got done reading a great book. That book is Island of the Blue Dolphins. I would recommend this book because almost everyone Karana knew died or left her. I also recommend this book because I learned a lot about history in the author's note. Even though Karana lost almost everyone, the book has a happy ending.

Island Of The Blue Dolphins
by Scott O'Dell

I think you should read Island of the Blue Dolphins. It is based on a true story of people living on an island. The Aleuts came from far away and killed Karana's father who was the chief. They killed him because they did not keep a deal with them.

Karana has to hide from the Aleuts when they come back. Karana does a lot of things her father does. A lot of people in her family die. She also has a lot of pets to talk to when she is lonely. It is such a good book. I can not tell you any more so you will just have to read the rest.

Island Of The Blue Dolphins
by Scott O'Dell

You should read this book because it is a fast-moving adventure and there are lots of strange incidents. If you can handle really complicated situations, you could probably handle Island of the Blue Dolphins. This book is complicated to me because when somebody passes away, it feels like someone new just pops in.

The character I like the most is Karana because she is really confident and hard working. She is hard working because she built a whole big hut all by herself. She is confident because she stood up to the big pack of wild dogs.

She goes through some very tough times. The toughest times for Karana were when her father died, her brother got killed, and her dog Rontu's death. She felt very calm when her father and brother died but her dog's death probably affected her the most. Even though her dog died, she found Rontu's son that looked exactly like Rontu.

This book is really interesting because it has lots of emotion and lots of humor with sad and happy moments. This book reminds me of a true story. When everything starts turning bad in the book, you will want to know what happens next. I recommend this book to you because it is amazing and like I said, when the bad things start happening, you will want to read the book.

Island Of The Blue Dolphins
by Scott O'Dell

I recommend this book because it is fun to read about people living and surviving on the land. I also like reading about adventures.

This story is about a girl named Karana and she does some wacky stuff. It all started when the Aleuts came and hunted otter on the island. When the village that Karana lives on comes upon some good fortune, the Aleuts get jealous. Then there was a small battle between the village and the Aleuts. The Aleuts killed Karana's father. Then they left the island. A little later in the book the villagers leave because they are worried that the Aleuts would come back. Everyone was on the ship when the ship started leaving. Then they realize they left Karana's brother Ramo behind. Even though they saw him on land, they still kept going because a storm was coming. So Karana jumped out and swam to the island. When they were on the island for a few days, something horrible happens. That's where the adventures begin.

Island Of The Blue Dolphins
by Scott O'Dell

I haven't read this book but I am very excited about it because it is the first book that my 11 year old daughter has gotten excited about. She has asked me to check out more of your books this summer and asked me to search for more information on your books on the internet. She has read other books for reports in school because she is in the 5th grade but this is the first one that she has gotten excited about saying "Mama, this is the best book I have ever read." I am an avid reader and this means a lot to me. Just last night she was assigned 1 chapter to read and she read 8.
